ASSISTANT HERDSPERSON REQUIRED NEAR EXETER, DEVON

We have an opportunity open for an enthusiastic individual who is self-motivated and proactive to join our team on our 390 cow, spring block herd in Kenton, Devon. The herd is grazed 365 days of the year, based on a New Zealand grazing system, out wintered during the dry period on bales and deferred grazing. We milk through a 24/48 swing over parlour. There is a SenseHub by Allflex heat detection and health monitoring system installed with a sort gate.

What we are looking for:

A passion for farming

A willingness to learn and a desire to achieve

Attention to detail to maintain high standards

A keen eye for herd health

There will be an expectation that you will be willing to learn about, or expand your knowledge and practical skills in the areas of:

Milking

Tractor/Yard Work

Drying off

Calving and calf rearing

Grass management

Basic record keeping

This would be an ideal opportunity for an ambitious person to learn and develop new skills within a progressive business.

On farm accommodation available for a full time role

Wage dependant on experience.
